Brazil Welcomes New Intellectual Property Powerhouse: RNA Law

SÃO PAULO, Brazil — A new chapter in Brazil’s IP scene has begun with the launch of RNA Law, an elite boutique firm dedicated to IP litigation, prosecution, and transactions. Led by Rob Rodrigues, RNA Law unites a team of distinguished lawyers and technical specialists, known for their litigation success and pioneering strategies in IP prosecution.

Leadership and Expertise

Rob is a standout in the global IP community and a trusted advisor for both acquisition and enforcement. Recognized by leading publications such as Chambers, IAM, and Who’s Who Legal, Rob is celebrated for his strategic acumen and deep market insight. A Stanford Law School LL.M. alumnus, Rob has delivered remarkable results for FORTUNE 500 companies and dynamic startups alike.

Joining him as name partner is Tatiana Alves, experienced trial lawyer with a proven track record in patent litigation for global entities in Brazil. Among her many achievements, Tatiana was the first woman to serve as a lead counsel in SEP enforcement and validity cases. She holds a Ph.D. in Civil Procedure and Evidence Law and is a DEI-champion in the IP sector, recognized by WIPR Diversity as an Influential Women in IP for three years in a row.

The firm also counts with Karlo Tinoco and Brenno Telles as practice leaders. Karlo has unparalleled expertise in unfair competition and trade secrets litigation, as well as arbitration. He holds a Ph.D. in Intellectual Property Law and Competition Law from Université de Strasbourg, in France, and has been acknowledged by IAM Strategy 300, IP Stars, and Who’s Who Legal. Brenno is renowned for handling groundbreaking cases in life sciences, including the first biosimilars infringement campaign ever filed in Brazil.

The technical team will be led by seasoned professionals, such as Luiza Cotia, Head of Life Sciences, bringing over two decades of experience in managing complex patent portfolios. Rodrigo Mourão, Head of ICT, is known for his expertise handling high-tech patent portfolios and assisting litigation strategy. Rhuan Quintanilha rounds out the leadership as Head of Mechanics and Industrial Designs, enhancing both the prosecution and litigation practices at RNA Law.

Additionally, the team brings together a talented group of trial lawyers and paralegals.
