Tatiana is a pharmacist with over 20 years of experience inMolecular Genetics, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry of Trypanosomatids. She carriedout four postdoctoral researches in these areas, and has expertise inidentifying virulence factors, elucidating the molecular mechanisms thatpromote the infectivity and survival of protozoa, and assisting in thedevelopment of new intervention strategies and drugs for the treatment ofleishmaniasis and Chagas disease. Tatiana has also ample experience withCRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, genetic validation/modification of peptidases, with aparticular focus on natural peptidase inhibitors for the development ofanti-parasite therapies.
